From Customs Office, Paro Airport

Yesterday was a very auspicious day. After two long years in India, I am finally back to a place where I belong. I made back to my office in one good piece and it gives me immense joy and satisfaction. In the morning hours, I first went to meet my new boss. It was our first meeting and so both of us had very few words. But in between, I think our silence did the rest. Through our silence, we spoke a lot. I think we spoke  about our dream to serve our department. -To our best. before I stood up to leave his chamber, I shook his hand. I think I did thrice.

Then I went to meet our Administrative officer. While I was so so happy to see her, first news she had for me was about asset declaration. This is mandated by anti corruption commission of Bhutan. I am aware and I missed it twice. She reminded me of the penalty which frightened me to core. One hundred Ngultrum per day till I make a declaration was a lot of money. So without much ado, I rushed back to my office, opened the ACC website and rushed to declare the only "declarable"asset I have at my disposal. -My alto car.

ACC website already has my detail. But I was grossly surprised to see that all my daughters marked as my spouse and my wife marked as my only daughter.  For now I have made the necessary editions. I know I am very late but still I am of the opinion that its better late than never.

Today, I submitted my joining report. And in my feedback and proposal from, I have made it clear about the knowledge I have gained in course of  two years. I have a distinction in Economics. I have also made it clear about where I would like to work in future so that I become of some use to our country. I will be very happy if I get to work as a researcher or as a teacher somewhere. Researcher, because I want to learn new things. And Teacher, because I want to impart my knowledge before I forget them myself.

From tomorrow I will resume my duty. I am told that its going to be a hectic days hence. According to the timetable, I am expected to rise at 4 am everyday and be in my office at 5 am. If  weather remains flight -friendly, then I might be going home after 4 pm.
