By the way, WCO means, World Customs Organization and ROCB means Regional Office for Capacity Building (for customs)
I am writing this post, drunk, but touched altogether. I feel wordless to thank the Secretary General, WCO and the Head of ROCB AP for visiting our country. I am deeply moved by the kind of affection WCO have for Bhutan Customs administration. Even in my drunken mood, I am hopeful that such affection, care and gesture will go a long way in furthering the capacity of our administration. Thank you WCO and Thank you ROCB AP.
I enjoyed the bonfire with Bhutanese brewed araa. I also enjoyed the company of many other dignitaries. Although little skeptical, cultural programs were wonderful. The mask dances and traditional songs I found were as sacred as it were meant to be. Dinner was delicious and so was desert. There were stars and no rain from the sky. No cloud either! So I am presuming that our guests loved the night.
When our guests finally resigned for the day, I had the privilege of meeting our colleagues from our head office. Once again... And over a cup of araa, I think I did my best to explain as to why integration among our colleagues is important. I think I drank Rinchen sir's coffee also. Did I discuss about my transfer ????? I think we also discussed many other issues; both sensible ones and nonsense, All in all, I came to know that many things are indeed happening in Customs department.
And the last thing I remember is our Director thanking me and my friend Tashi, personally, for the beautiful night. He shook hands only with us!............ I felt wordless! I don't know whether two of us deserve the credit altogether, but the way he pronounced our name, it melted my heart. I think he acknowledged the fact that even a person like me do not go unnoticed.
so this is your second bonfire in few weeks...thats indeed better...i hope in drunken state, you didnot talk anything bad about your boss and sub bosses..:P
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see your department is receiving a good sign of support from them. I am very much sure your agency would become one of the finest in the future. I look forward to happening it sooner.

The director thanked you because of the wonderful night you set up, but you must thank us for the idea and the first good experience. ha ha aha, I am very happy you drank a bit, otherwise you would have missed lots of fun.

Peldhen Sir,
ReplyDeleteIf your boss thanked you personally for whatever reasons, I feel he must have seen you sober that night. Acknowledgement is what subordinates usually craves for.
Detailed writing even in a drunken mood as you said. hehehhe
